Conversation Earns MarCom Award for Work on dressbarn Campaign


Conversation’s “Embrace Beyond Engagement” campaign for dressbarn, which ran from Fall of 2011 through Spring of 2012, has been announced as a Gold Award winner at the MarCom Awards. This is one of several awards won by the campaign. It has also been recognized by organizations such as the W3 Awards and OMMA. The multi-channel campaign involved several aspects, including QR codes, guerrilla marketing, social media and mobile. As campaign integration continues to prove itself a successful marketing strategy, Conversation has not been shy about implementing the approach in many of the agency’s client campaigns. dressbarn was no different, facilitating communication with the consumer during every step while seamlessly tying together various features of the campaign. The result led to a huge increase in brand loyalty and awareness, as was evident by several measures – most notably the jump from 150,000 to over 650,000 Facebook fans over a period of only six months. Similar to “Embrace Beyond Engagement,” dressbarn’s 2012-2013 campaign with Conversation launched in October with its breast cancer awareness component, “Paint the Country Pink.”
