Good news for Apple lovers: we may see the follow up to the iPad within 100 days, according to Foxconn Electronics, a manufacturer of Apple products. As reported by DigiTimes, this could mean a release of the iPad 2 by the end of February 2011, nearly one year after the initial release of the original iPad. Foxconn also notes that Apple originally planned to begin mass production of the iPad 2 in January 2011, but have since postponed it due to firmware testing. Meanwhile, Apple expects a high demand for the original iPad during the holidays. But with a projected release date for its successor, Apple fans must now choose between getting their hands on the iPad by the end of the year or for the iPad 2 a few months later. What each one decides is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for sure: Steve Jobs will be a very happy man this holiday season.
