Top 10 songs about breaking up/heartache/being single/reasons why love ain’t cool…

hearts1
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I have decide to create a Top 10 list that is appropriate for the sentiment felt by most on this holiday. And now without further ado, I bring to you the Top 10 songs about breaking up/heartache/being single/reasons why love ain’t cool.

(this is no particular order so don’t hate on me if you think some songs should have been higher on the list than others)
1. It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay by Whitney Houston
a. This song was an obvious choice after the passing of Whitney Houston a few days ago. If anything is learned from this song it is that if you are going to cheat you should make it much more believable because us females ill check your credit card receipts and call you out with the use of a chorus of 20 females.
2. Leave- Jo Jo
a. Jo Jo was around 13 when this song came out, and although I am convinced she had only experienced puberty by that age and not heartbreak, she managed to express her desire to tell her boyfriend to get the heck out through song and we all thank her for it.
3. Before He Cheats- Carrie Underwood
a. Now I can’t lie about the fact that I dislike country music, but this song is a warning to men of the world that if you think about cheating, women will seriously mess your stuff up. I don’t know about all of you, but getting a Louisville slugger to both headlights does not sound like a good time.
4. Since You’ve Been Gone- Kelly Clarkson
a. Kelly Clarkson tells us that relationships ain’t cool. What this song is really telling us is that Kelly can now do whatever she wants thanks to her newfound singledom. Holler!
5. Bye Bye Bye- NSYNC
a. Yeah so this song is being added because I love NSYNC and no of course I didn’t see them 2 times in concert when I was younger (3 weeks ago (jk)). If anything, this song will always be remembered because they kept it simple and chucked up the deuces to this girl. Oh and how can we forget the dance? Nothing says adios then a repetitive dance.
6. Heartbreaker- Heart
a. One of the few (possibly only) girl’s rock bands out there created a women’s anthem with the main message to stay the hell away from me if you are gonna mess with my heart. So seriously guys, just don’t mess around or we will yell at you through a strongly worded song. Ya dig?
7. Breaking Up Is Hard Enough-2Gether
a. Word to the wise out there: don’t date someone who is mentally unstable and will go Klepto on all your stuff when you decide to kick him/her to the curb.  2Gether holds a place in my heart and I surely hope this reunion happens soon.  RIP QT.
8. Tainted Love- Soft Cell
a. This song is basically saying, “so yeah you kinda repulse me now so I’m just pack up my stuff and bounce.  Kthxbye”
9. Love Stinks- J. Geils Band
a. The song title is pretty straight forward, Love Stinks. I chose to include this because I wanted to give a personal shout-out to Robbie Hart’s rendition of this in the Wedding Singer. I personally think this is an extremely appropriate song for Weddings especially when the loser table gets involved and joins in.
10. You Oughta Know- Alanis Morissette
a. Someone broke up with Alanis and started getting with another chick and Alanis got real mad. What better way to tell the guy how you feel then through a very angry song that takes place in the desert. Dave Coulier, if you are out there, I sure hope you apologized to Alanis for breaking her heart and to the world for having a mullet.
