Will ‘Pay-to-Play’ Ruin the Super Bowl’s Half Time Show?
Forbes released news this morning of the NFL’s plan to require payment from the finalists in the running in order to secure their much acclaimed spot as the Super Bowl’s half-time performance. The finalists, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay may have alternate ideas to make more money for themselves. This annual opportunity for the biggest free personal branding event an artist can attain may be an opportunity of the past as marketers realize the potential for additional revenue. With ad spots during the game running at over a million dollars, why should this spot be free?
